  2.         AIDS BBS_QUILT Rules 1.0       07-08-92

  4. Purpose: This echo is to be used as a remembrance/tribute area for those
  5.         who have fallen in the struggle with AIDS and its associated 
  6.         diseases. Similar to the AIDS Memorial Quilt, but adapted for 
  7.         use in the BBS Community.
  8.  
  9. 1. Only posts pertaining to remembrances are allowed. No discussions on 
  10.         ANY other issues, be it AIDS, social issues, personal issues, or 
  11.         whatever are allowed UNLESS it pertains to your tribute (such as 
  12.         the person was active in AIDS awareness groups, etc.). There are 
  13.         several excellent echos available for discussions on these very 
  14.         issues available, if you want information on another echo on these
  15.         issues and can't find it send me a message NETMAIL and I'll get 
  16.         you a list.

  18. 2. No ASCII Hi-Bit or ANSI messages are allowed.
  19.  
  20. 3. The recommended way for posting is to post the person's name in the 
  21.         subject  line, with your remembrances as the text of the message.
  22.         However, as long as the post is on topic this is not strictly
  23.         enforced, but it will make it easier seeing who the tribute is
  24.         for, especially when scanning.
  25.  
  26. 4. More than one person may enter a post on the same person, however please
  27.         limit your postings to one per each person. If your tribute runs 
  28.         real long it may be split up into  more than one message, just try
  29.         to keep them in order.
  30.  
  31. 5. No private messages are allowed. Use NETMAIL for that.  Also if you want 
  32.         to respond to a post, please use NETMAIL unless you are posting a
  33.         remembrance also.

  35. 6. The moderator has the authority to require a sysop to restrict, limit, 
  36.         or cut a users access to the echo at the moderators request for any
  37.         reason contrary to the echo. This does not mean you have to limit 
  38.         them or cut acces to your BBS, only the echo. Any sysop not complying 
  39.         with such a request risks losing the echo.

  41. 7. The echo may not be gated to another network without expressed approval
  42.         of the moderator, on the terms and conditions set forth by the
  43.         moderator.
  44.  
  45. 8. Due to the subject matter, handles are allowed, as long as they are
  46.         the same handle used on the BBS posting from, and are not 
  47.         obscene or degrading in  any way. The use of handles or real 
  48.         name is up to the individual sysops carrying the echo. No 
  49.         anonymous messages are allowed, since handles are. Also the
  50.         moderator has final decision on what is obscene or degrading.

  52. 9. Any problems, discussions, or suggestions please contact the 
  53.         moderator by NETMAIL.
  54.  
  55. 10. The moderator will respond to all off-topic posts via NETMAIL
  56.         to either the person making the post and/or the sysop of the
  57.         system the post originated from. Please do not respond to any
  58.         off topic posts in the echo. < However, if you want to respond
  59.         NETMAIL, that is your right...   :-)   >

  61. 11. These rules may be changed or modified at any time as the moderator
  62.         sees fit, and will be posted in the echo at least once a month.
  63.         It is recommended that sysops carrying the echo make a copy of
  64.         the rules available for their users before accessing the echo.
  65.  
  66. 12. Any changes or information will be relayed by the moderator either 
  67.         in the echo or NETMAIL, whichever is appropriate.
